ABOUT

In the Name of God, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate

At the Women’s Mosque of America, we create spaces where Muslim women and girls can learn, lead, worship, ask questions, and build community with dignity and belonging. Our work is rooted in the belief that when women have greater access to Islamic knowledge and leadership, the whole Ummah is strengthened.

Through women-led Jummaʿa services, the Qur’an Literacy Program, educational gatherings, and leadership development, the WMA supports women in deepening their relationship with Allah, the Qur’an, and the wider Muslim community.

We are not here to replace existing mosques. We are here to complement them by helping women grow in confidence, knowledge, and spiritual leadership—so they can carry that light back into their families, communities, and local masajid.

Mission & Vision

Mission: The Women’s Mosque of America advances Muslim women’s full participation and leadership in religious life through education, congregational worship, and community engagement rooted in equity and scholarship. Vision:  The Women’s Mosque of America envisions a future in which Muslim women’s leadership is recognized, normalized, and sustained across all areas of religious life. We aspire to cultivate communities where access to sacred knowledge, space, and authority is inclusive, and where diverse voices actively shape Islamic thought and practice.
The Women’s Mosque of America is sustained by the care, dedication, and service of a diverse community of volunteers across the country. We are grateful for the continued interest, trust, and connection of our broader community as we prepare for what comes next.
