KHUTBAHS & BECOMING A KHATEEBAH

In our YouTube video below, watch Edina Lekovic deliver the khutbah (sermon) for our historic first jumma’a service on January 30th, 2015 at the Pico Union Project in downtown Los Angeles.

Audio recordings of past khutbahs delivered at the Women’s Mosque of America are available for public listening. To explore these recordings, please visit our SoundCloud page or subscribe to the Women’s Mosque of America podcast on Apple Podcasts. Video recordings of select khutbahs are also available on our YouTube channel.

Continuing the LegacyInterested in Becoming a Khateebah?

Today, the WMA continues to support and mentor future khateebahs through:

  • Leadership development
  • Community mentorship
  • Qur’an Literacy Program participation
  • Public speaking opportunities
  • Women-led spiritual spaces

As we restore our regular women-led Jummaʿa services, we remain committed to cultivating spaces where Muslim women can continue learning, teaching, and leading with sincerity and care. Future khateebahs are encouraged to participate in the Qur’an Literacy Program (QLP) and engage actively in WMA’s community and discussion spaces.

More information about future khutbah opportunities and training will be shared as WMA resumes regular programming.

May Allah (swt) accept the efforts of every woman who has shared knowledge, reflection, and guidance through this community. Ameen.
