Alhamdulillah, the Women’s Mosque of America is growing again. Your compassion, support, and prayers have carried us through a difficult season, and as we look ahead, we are preparing for the next chapter of the WMA’s work.

We are seeking dedicated volunteers, supporters, interns, and team members to help sustain and grow the work that our founder, M. Hasna Maznavi, so passionately led. Whether you bring professional experience, creative skills, technical expertise, or simply a willingness to learn and serve, your involvement can make a meaningful difference.

Board of Directors Members
We are seeking community members with vision, commitment, and experience to help guide the organization, support fundraising, strengthen administration, and sustain the WMA’s mission.

Advisory Committee Members
We welcome individuals who can offer strategic guidance, mentorship, professional expertise, and support for the WMA’s long-term growth and sustainability.

Khateebahs (Speakers) and Mu’adthinahs (Callers to Prayer)
As we prepare for the return of women-led Jumuʿah services, we are welcoming interest from women who would like to serve as future khateebahs or mu’adthinahs. Training will be provided.

*In alignment with WMA’s mission and long-term vision, participation in the Qur’an Literacy Program (QLP) will be strongly prioritized for applicants seeking leadership roles, including khateebah opportunities. This ensures that WMA’s leaders are grounded in the Qur’anic literacy, reflective practice, and shared values that guide our community.

Technology & Communications Team
We are seeking volunteers who can help strengthen the WMA’s online presence, manage communications, support digital platforms, and create consistent, mission-aligned content.

Areas may include:

  • Social media coordination and content creation
  • Website and email communications
  • Photography and videography
  • Audio engineering and live-event support
  • Brand consistency and digital storytelling

Operations & Event Support Team
We are seeking volunteers ready to help bring back in-person events, especially Jumma’a services and community gatherings.

Areas may include:

  • Event setup and breakdown
  • Check-in and hospitality
  • Prayer space coordination
  • Accessibility and community care
  • Family support
  • Live-event coordination

Social Media Volunteers
Responsibilities may include supporting WMA’s Instagram, Facebook, and other platforms; creating consistent posts; sharing Jumma’a, QLP, and event announcements; and helping maintain brand consistency and creativity across platforms.

Applicants for social media roles are encouraged to submit a portfolio or samples showing creativity, consistency, and an understanding of social media communication.
