Co-Ed Online Qur’an Discussions
As of January 2026, the Qur’an Literacy Program has entered its third year.
The Qur’an Literacy Program (QLP) is one of the signature educational initiatives developed by M. Hasna Maznavi, Founder of the Women’s Mosque of America. The program was created to expand accessible, contextual engagement with the Qur’an for a broad and diverse community.
The Women’s Mosque of America’s Qur’an Literacy Program is a co-ed, women-led English reading of the entire Qur’an, supported by facilitated monthly online discussion circles. These discussion circles provide a structured and supportive space for participants to reflect on their learning, share insights, ask questions, and explore how sustained engagement with the Qur’an shapes their spiritual lives and sense of responsibility in the world.
Through QLP, the WMA continues its mission of expanding access to Islamic learning, nurturing direct engagement with the Qur’an, and supporting a women-led Islamic renaissance rooted in scholarship, reflection, and community.
QLP Discussion Circles
Our monthly QLP Discussion Circles are held online and are open to registered Qur’an Literacy Program participants. Recordings from past Qur’an Literacy Program discussions and WMA programming are available on the Women’s Mosque of America YouTube channel:
