The Women’s Mosque of America has historically hosted a wide range of women-led and co-ed programs designed to foster learning, reflection, and community connection. These offerings have included worship services, educational gatherings, discussion circles, and online events centered on Muslim women’s scholarship and leadership.

At this time, the Women’s Mosque of America is in a period of organizational pause as we focus on internal compliance, sustainability, and long-term planning. Information about future events or programming will be shared when appropriate.

Past Community Events & Programs

Over the years, WMA has hosted online and in-person community gatherings, including co-ed educational programs and reflective events highlighting the voices of Qur’an Literacy Program participants and graduates. These events have offered opportunities for learning, dialogue, and shared spiritual reflection across a broad community.

Recordings of select past programs and talks are available through our public media channels.

Qur’an Literacy Program Discussion Circles (Historical)

One of the core components of the Women’s Mosque of America’s educational work has been the Qur’an Literacy Program (QLP), which has included co-ed, women-led English readings of the Qur’an accompanied by facilitated monthly discussion circles.

These discussion circles provided a structured space for participants to reflect on their learning, share insights, and explore how sustained engagement with the Qur’an shaped their spiritual lives and sense of responsibility in the world.

The schedule below reflects past program activity and is provided for archival and informational purposes only.

  • January 2025 – Orientation Session
  • February–December 2025 – Monthly Discussion Circles
  • January 2026 – Final Discussion Circle and Graduation Ceremony

ABOUT

The Qur’an Literacy Program has been a cornerstone of WMA’s educational mission, supporting participants in developing deeper, more contextual relationships with the Qur’an. Through women-led pedagogy and community-centered learning, the program has contributed to WMA’s broader vision of expanding access to Islamic knowledge and cultivating women’s religious leadership.

As the organization continues its period of reflection and planning, updates regarding future educational initiatives or partnerships will be shared when available, insha’Allah.
